I can’t believe how bummed out I am. I applied to be a milk donor through HMBNA in hopes that I could get rid of some of the backlog in my freezer. I was really sad to find out that I don’t qualify because I have had cancer treatment in the last 5 years. Even though thyroid cancer is treated with radioactive iodine which has a ridiculously short half life, they make a rule that just covers all treatments. Wow that bums me out. Maybe by the time i have another child? Who knows.
I went to my first La Leche League meeting. What a great time! It was so nice to hang out with other moms with kids of similar age and just talk about being a mom. I can’t say I agreed with everyone’s point of view but it was still interesting. Most were stay at home moms which I am so jealous of but i did have a lot in common with a few moms. Some were even… gasp… republicans. I love to meet breastfeeding, granola crunching conservatives. I think they might be my favorite kind of people.
