Sad day
Yesterday was my first day back. It was immeasurably difficult to leave Claire in the hands of a care provider that I do not know and come back but for now it had to be done. She seemed to do okay yesterday although 2 days in a row they have had the walkers in with the non-walkers so she isn’t getting much time out of her crib. I was assured they would be separated when we chose this daycare so I’m not terribly happy. I’m going to talk to the center director today or tomorrow and see what’s going on. I had Kyle stop by unannounced around 11 this morning and she was just laying in her crib wide awake. Walkers in the room again…Grumble.
I’m thinking about moving her to a daycare near work. That way I can take lunch and give her the 1130 feeding and it won’t be quite so out of the way when i have to take her to the pediatrician in the middle of the day or have other appointments.
Work is totally different as my boss of 6 years has now left the company and I am working for someone new. I also have to adjust my schedule since I am not with Claire and need to make use of the “New Mom’s Room” 3 times a day. I use the term “room” very loosely. They used to have a small lounge/ room designated exclusively for new mom’s but when I went down to the 6th floor on Monday it had moved and that room was re-designated as an office. It took a while but I found it. They have converted a closet originally meant to store computer hardware into the lactation room. When I say closet, I mean closet. All access points and a rack of servers are in there. They added a chair inside and a sign on the door and now it doubles as the “New Mom’s Room”. Nice. I’ll take pics sometime and post. It’s a joke.
That’s really all I have to report this week so far. Claire goes for her 2 month appointment on Thursday. I fully expect she will be around 24 or so inches and almost 14lbs. We shall see! She’s a moose for sure.
