Apparently Kyle sent out a message that may have gotten people’s hopes up, atleast according to it’s title:) Unfortunately, we have no progress to report. I had my 40 week appt today and the midwife confirmed i am still about 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I will go back Friday for a non-stress test to monitor the fetal heart rate and an ultrasound to check size of the baby and fluid.
On the positive side, they gave me a steroid pack for my PUPPP (Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy). Hopefully it helps as I have been MISERABLE for over a week and am now getting about 2 hours of sleep a night. For those who don’t know about PUPPP, it is a condition in which itching starts in your stretch marks on your abdomen and spreads to other extremities. I currently have red itchy bumps covering my chest, arms, stomach, thighs and feet. It’s absolutely miserable and antihistamines, Aveeno baths and lotions do not help. Hot water also agitates it immensely which stinks because water was one of my plans for pain management during labor. Here is hoping that the meds work!
Aubrey – My heart goes out to you. I know each minute overdue is an eternity. Just try to keep yourself occupied and imagine that, in one month, you’ll be looking back and saying “It was all worth it” as you hold your daughter in your arms. On a more serious note (like a C above the staff), I do hope the pills help so that you can sleep. The last week or two of pregnancy is always grumpy time and totally uncomfortable, and not being able to sleep canNOT be helping with that. I pray for your sake AND for Kyle’s that they work!

OH my goodness! Here’s prayin’ that the drugs work =) A first baby is somethin’ eh? Well I hope Claire comes soon if the drugs don’t work if only to alleviate your miserableness =) I wish you could still use water for pain though =(
