35 weeks…and counting

I had my weekly appt with the midwife yesterday. All is well. Total weight gain is at 24lbs which is still well within healthy weight gain. I haven’t really changed my diet in the last few weeks but she is already estimated at over 7lbs which makes somewhat of a difference. They also prescribed a z-pak for me so hopefully that kicks in soon. I’ve been fighting a nasty cold for over a week with no sign of it letting up so they decided an antibiotic was called for. From here on out, I will have weekly appts until I give birth. They did the strep test yesterday and I should get that back in the next few days. If it is positive, it will mean that they administer antibiotics during labor to prevent from passing during birth to Claire. It’s a standard test done at 35 and 37 weeks. At this time, I’m also 1 centimeter dilated and the baby is in her final position (head down) so everything is looking good for anytime in the next 5 weeks.

 To do this week:
I will start childbirth classes this weekend and I still need to set up a time to lay out my birth plan with my doula. Everything is approaching very quickly now and I just don’t have as much energy as I thought I would.

Who’s your doctor? I’m looking for a new ob/gyn, and always on the look out for someone who LOVES theirs. Any recommendations?
