Cold and Flu season

It’s that time of year again. Everyone brings their cooties to work and then I get sick! I’ve been coughing for a few days but last night got really bad to where I couldn’t breathe through my noise and was up half the night hacking. To top it all off, I really can’t take any medicine that actually works. So here I sit, drinking fluids, and praying it will flush out of my system. Pregnancy+cold= misery.

We were supposed to have our interview with the pediatrician yesterday but she called and rescheduled for next week because she had an office schedule full of sick kids and didn’t want me to risk exposure. I guess it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.

Also contributing to my general icky feeling is the fact that I have already been at work for an hour. We dropped the truck off for a recall repair at 7. It’s been a long time since I left the house while it was still dark. The dealership of course tried to upsell and get us to do things we did not need but I decided today just needed to be the free visit. We are doing so well with budget lately it’s nice to not be running down to the wire before every paycheck.

I’m thinking that lunch today will consist of a nap in a friend’s car. I’m not sure i can make it through otherwise. I don’t want to accidentally fall asleep at my desk. That would be only slightly less embarrassing than getting caught playing spider solitaire.

Try Vicks Vabo-rub for breathing at night. While I was pregnant, it was one of the few things that would work and was safe to take (it’s topical, so you don’t pass anything to the baby). I had sleep apnea during the last 2 months or so, and this actually did help me sleep for at least 4 hours straight.
