A new web site and the first update!
I convinced Kyle to help me start a site for our expanding family. Eventually, we will have a decent amount of content to include videos, photo albums, music, etc. For now, you get a blog!
As many of you know, we are now approaching 33 weeks with only 7+/- weeks to go. My next appt is with Dr. Harvin on the 14th. Claire is doing very well, or atleast she feels like she is. Kyle can now feel her whole body turning over from outside my stomach which is pretty cool. I feel pretty good too although I do notice myself getting more tired and frankly my belly is just in the way! I also have some awesome hippo looking feet. If you love me and you have a pair of wide shoes I could borrow, please let me know. I’m about to start wearing Birkenstocks to work.
We had our baby shower last weekend and I hope everyone had a great time. We did, even if it was pulling teeth for Kyle to be there. We got so many wonderful gifts and it was great to catch up with everyone. My mom got to show off her plants and we got to make fun of her for mating her plants and other weird things she does! Kidding, sort of…
We really enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone, chow down on yummy petit fors and tell funny stories. On monday, Kyle and I attended our “Joy of Parenthood” class at Kennestone Hospital. This is the first of the classes we signed up for and was an informative and enlightening way to spend 3 hours…even if Kyle made sarcastic remarks the entire time. We still have the childbirth class which will be the first and second sunday of February for a total of 12 hours. Kyle is thrilled about that. I’m hoping Claire holds out that long…but if she doesn’t, atleast I would get a refund!
In the upcoming weeks, we have several appointments to help us get ready. I’m continuing to have my endocrinology appointments and labwork in addition to my regular OB appointments. Dr. Silverman’s nurse called yesterday with the lastest results and this gem of a thought, “If you start feeling symptomatic, please call us immediately.” For those of you who don’t know, thyroid sympots would include being tired, some swelling, etc. I’m not really sure how I would discern that from normal third trimester feelings but it gave me a chuckle anyways.
We are meeting with a prospective day care near our house this coming wednesday. I really hope they work out as they are very conveniently located AND we get a discount through Turner (Kyle’s company). I checked their government inspection and there wasn’t anything glaring. Playground materials needed redistributed or something like that.
The meeting with the pediatrician takes place the following week on January 22nd. I’m really hoping all of these appointments go well.
That pretty much brings everyone up to date on what is going on with the Kinnamans. Kyle and my dad will begin drywalling our basement this weekend. Kyle will be finishing insulation tonight. I can almost picture my finished basement! I’ll post some pictures if I have time.
